Attorney Biography
Named by the Virginia State Bar as the 2010 Virginia Young Lawyer of the Year, Robert E. Byrne, Jr. is an AV-rated Charlottesville Business Litigation Attorney who focuses on business and commercial litigation, Virginia intellectual property litigation, plaintiff’s personal injury, and employment law. With trial experience in both state and federal court, Bob is passionate about representing his clients through all levels of a case, from researching and briefing complex issues of law to arguing motions and presenting cases at trial. Bob enjoys learning and dissecting nuanced areas of the law to find legal solutions that will ultimately benefit his clients. Bob’s passion for his clients and the law is reflected by the fact that he has twice been selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers Magazine, an honor reserved for just 2.5% of the eligible attorneys in Virginia.
In addition to serving as the Managing Attorney and President of MartinWren, P.C., Bob has also volunteered in a number of capacities with the Virginia State Bar and the Charlottesville Albemarle Bar Association. He is also an active member of the Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club, where he has served on committees for a water sanitation fundraising project to benefit communities in Africa. Bob serves as a member and elder of a local church, and he is a member of the Leadership Charlottesville Class of 2011. Bob’s wife, Lauren, is a licensed attorney and formerly served as a prosecutor for the City of Norfolk and as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable D. Arthur Kelsey. Bob and Lauren live in Keswick with their two children.

- Defended Seller against enforcement of real estate contract by arguing that a contract for the purchase of a 200-acre parcel of property was procured by fraud.
