Former NFL Players Sue, Claiming NFL Hid Risks of Concussions

75 former players in the National Football League have filed suit against the National Football League for concealing the damages of concussions and head injuries from its former players.  The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court, also includes Riddell, the official helmet provider to the NFL, for apparently failing to warn of the dangers associated with head injuries in football.

The suit has included a fraud-based claim, presumably to avoid the statutes of limitations that would apply to some of the decades-long injuries.  The plaintiffs contend that they first became aware of this danger in 2010, when the NFL officially acknowledged the dangers of head injuries in the game.
